These are full-resolution images, taken on my Washington trip with the new EOS-50D but since Zoomify throws colour-management out the door, they will look a little different than the versions in the main gallery. They were original raw images processed in Canon's Digital Photo Professional v3.5.0.1 software and developed for maximum detail at the expense of a little bit of graininess. Virtually no luminance noise-reduction was performed on any file, just some chroma NR as needed.

The above shot inside the Coulee Dam is notable since it was shot with my EF-S 10-22mm zoom handheld at 1/15 second and f/4.5 at an effective ISO of 1600. It was actually shot at ISO 800 but pushed nearly 1-stop in post-processing... plus it was shot through a heavy plexiglass panel! A little bit of luminance NR was performed in Canon's software.

 


Lastly, the photo below, which is not from my Washington trip, is a headshot I did for my friend Julia. Just so you can see how the 50D performs in a portrait scenario...
